12/19/14 -- Built a wheel with a new-old-stock specimen. Checked and slightly corrected dims and weight. ERD measured as 597.2 (I had estimated 598 based on the published SSD). Unusual eyelet type that is more like a spoke washer that isn't crimped through the outer wall, and has a basket-shaped portion attached that doesn't pull against the inner wall, but prevents nipples from falling into the rim. Seam appears to be sleeved (evidenced by weight imbalance and pinch marks) and also welded (evidenced by flashing on inner surface and lack of visible seam on brake wall). -Karl
